Meet Sniper Seth!

Hi,

My name is Seth and I'm 8 years old and I am A Gun Smart Kid. Most people in the firearms community know me as "Sniper Seth".
I earned my nickname because of my love and passion for guns. My Dad started me shooting at age 6 with his 1980 Red Rider BB gun. He said "You'll shoot your eye out". I'm still not sure I understand what he's talking about, something about a movie. I progressed up to our Colt M4 Ops 22 caliber. From there he had me shoot our Hipoint 9mm Carbine. I've worked my way thru various calibers. AR .223/5.56, AK 7.62x39, RPK 7.62x39, Mosin Nagant 7.62x54, Lee Enfield British .303, 37mm granade launcher, Browning 1919 .308, Browning 60 .308, and the Browning M2 50 cal.
Yep, I've shot them all. My Dad is trying to get a Barrett or Serbu 50 donated to us. I hope it works.
On April 21st of 2012 at age 7, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma. My Mom & Dad spent a lot of time with me being in and out of the hospital. My Dad took something he called, extended medical leave from work. He stayed home with me while I was sick. During that time he shared his knowledge and love of firearms with me. We'd sit on the floor in our shop in the basement and he showed me how to field strip our guns. He taught me three simple but essential rules everyone should know about guns.
1) ALWAYS TREAT IT LIKE ITS LOADED
2) ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR READY TO SHOOT
3) NEVR POINT IT AT ANYONE OR ANYTHING YOU DON'T INTEND TO SHOOT
I know he must have told me this at least a million times. He said "Complacency Kills". I kinda understand what that means. Hey, I'm only 8. Even though my Dad served 8 years in the United States Army during Desert Storm, I know more about guns them him. Don't tell him I said that though, he gets a little touchy.
I'm glad my Dad has shared his passion for guns with me. I may not be smart about cars, sports or other things some of my friends like. My Dad says it's no different then wanting to learn about cars and what makes them run. I like to know about different caliber guns and how they function. A firearm is a tool just like a screwdriver or hammer. Each tool serves a purpose and must be used responsibly or it can become dangerous.
We hope that by teaming up with with Noah it will give us a new platform to share our knowledge and help spread firearm awareness and proper safety.
Thank you for reading this. Be safe, keep your powder dry and happy shooting.
Gods Blessings
